The USS Indianapolis connection
Own a piece of historical art painted onboard USS Indianapolis by Lieutenant Commander, Earl Henry, the artist who was lost at sea in the sinking of the ship.
Lieutenant Commander Henry joined the USS Indianapolis at Saipan on July 25, 1944 as its dental officer. Painted aboard ship in August, American Eagle in the Pacific, depicts the American Eagle spreading its wings to protect the 48 states while ripping apart the Japanese war flag. This war poster expresses the emotions of Americans fighting in the Pacific during World II.
